Mid-term meeting and REDD-PAC school in Douala, Cameroon

Hosted by COMIFAC, the REDD-PAC mid-term meeting brought together representatives from all four partner organizations. The bi-lingual three-days meeting provided a platform to review the project’s performance in the last two years and take strategic decisions for the coming years. The subsequent field trip to a project of the German cooperation (GiZ) as well as the Cameroon Development Cooperation (CDC) in the Mount Cameroon region sharpened the participants’ understanding of land use strategies in the region. The second week was dedicated to the second session of the REDD-PAC School in the Congo basin: National experts from the four pilot countries (Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Cameroon and Central African Republic) together with IIASA researchers developed land use models in order to allow for evaluation of the impacts of various development scenarios in the countries of the Congo basin.
